Habitat Interfaith Partnership is a coalition of eight faith based groups that will sponsor and build a Habitat house this year in partnership with Flower City Habitat for Humanity and Habitat for Humanity. Construction volunteers will be from each of the eight Habitat Interfaith Partnership member organizations.
Habitat for Humanity is a housing ministry that works with God's people to eliminate poverty housing around the world and to make adequate housing a matter of conscience and action. Habitat welcomes to partners from any faith- or no faith- who are willing to pick up a hammer and help improve the lives of families needing decent shelter.
Flower City Habitat for Humanity, the Rochester area affiliate, builds and renovates houses in partnership with families in need of decent and affordable housing. Homeowners are selected on the basis of their need for housing, ability to repay a no-interest mortgage and willingness to partner with Habitat by providing 450 hours of "sweat equity."

This coalition of eight faith groups has two primary goals: (1) to obtain the required financing and provide the volunteer labor to help build a Habitat house and (2) to better understand and appreciate the Christian, Islamic, and Jewish faiths represented in our coalition, all of which derive from Abraham. So far our coalition has helped to build the following three houses in Rochester:
